Why the name NY Finest?
Simply, that is who we are. All of NY Finest’s employees are active or retired NYPD Detectives or above. We do not employ non-NYPD personnel and we never, ever employ non-law enforcement. If you’re a New Yorker, you have certainly read the slogan: NYPD Detectives….The Greatest Detectives in the World!

What are your rates, and why don’t you post them on the website.
It is impossible to quote a rate since each case is unique. However, standard private investigations or surveillance is 75.00 per hour. If second detective is needed, a discount rate of 55.00 per hour is charged. Corporate/Celebrity rates for Armed Security are not public information.

How are you different from other Investigative agencies?
Usually, small investigative firms in New York usually act as a general contractor and sub-contract their work to other smaller firms. This is a no win situation for the client since two events will definitely occur; the client pays higher fees OR, the client will have un-experienced or un-qualified people to do the work. Larger investigative firms may charge reasonable rates, but they may not use former NYPD Detectives to conduct any investigations or surveillance. Some firms have even used college interns! NY Finest uses our own permanent staff of active or former NYPD Detectives. This assures the client will receive the highest level of expertise and at a reasonable price.

How are you different from other Protective agencies?
See above with this added. Firemen are brave people. Construction workers are the backbone of America. However, we don’t employ them or use them for any security. If you request Armed Guards, make sure your security company uses them!

When can I call your office?
Twenty four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week. We work all shifts, day and night.

I am a retiring NYPD Detective. Are you hiring?
We are a rapidly expanding company, but have a very low personnel turnover rate. If you would like to be considered as a future employee, you must be licensed by the NYS, Department of State, You can fax your resume to 845-365-3696. An interview will be scheduled within three months. Please do not call, as our phone volume is very high.
